I have a clean bike waiting for me

I have not done many cycle rides this year so far. No excuses, but it was bitterly cold and grey today and I did not venture out. Winter cycling is somehow always better on a bright, sunny day with a blue sky. When that is the case, I can put up with the cold.

In the absence of much riding, however, I have cleaned my bike, giving the chain a thorough clean followed by dry lube. So there is a clean bike waiting for me in my hallway.

The longer that clean bike stares at me, the more guilty I will feel, so I am sure I will get out for a cycle next week, even if it is only a short ride into Horsham.

On the other hand, perhaps I am not doing too badly, because one or two of my cycling mates have not been out on their bikes since a ride in the New Forest last October.
